once upon a time

I decided to import a couple of old posts from another blog...this one is from a month and a half into my adventure on facebook.  It's hard to imagine the days without it.

Has it hit your campus yet? Rest assured it is only a matter of time before it will.

According to the about section of the website "Thefacebook is an online directory that connects people through social networks at colleges and universities."

The president of one of the organizations that I advise first brought my attention to thefacebook. We have been talking all year about how to create more community in our area and help students get to know other students. Early November while we were in our weekly meeting he explains that he thinks he might have a solution and he explained to me the wonders of thefacebook.

I am supposed to be flying up to Denver this weekend to see some friends!  But there is a Tropical Storm that is about to make it's way into the Gulf of Mexico.  I am having trouble deciding whether or not I should actually go.  It's kind of eerie seeing how this weekend is the three year anniversary of Katrina.  New Orleans is already getting ready and many people are activating their evacuation plans.  I am sure that things here in Baton Rouge will be pale compared to elsewhere, but my tickets are direct from New Orleans to Denver and my return flight is scheduled for Tuesday...less than 24 hours after the hurricane is supposed to make landfall.  Plus, what if somethings were to happen and I wouldn't be here to help.  So anyway...that's what's on my mind right now.

Back again!

I may have set a record for the number of abandoned blogs on the internet.  But nonetheless, I decided to start one yet again.  If that's not good news to you, you can blame my friend Tami who has recently become a blogging butterfly!  I am not quite sure if this will be a place to update about what's going on with me, or if it will be more of a place to collect my thoughts about the world around me.  Only time will tell, but if I were a gambler I would put money on the fact that there may be a purpose that comes along that I have yet to discover.  With all that said...I need to go find a book I have misplaced.  My house is not that big, so it shouldn't be that difficult, but it has been a while since I have seen it.
